With a max torque like that, no job is too tough, but combine that with DeWalt’s impressive 34,000 blows per minute in hammerdrill mode and a max third-gear speed of 2,000 rpm, and you’ve got all the power you’ll need for drilling into just about anything, from wood to steel and masonry. Nice carbide jaws in the keyless chuck really hang onto the bit. These extended run batteries give you not just a longer runtime, but they last longer than standard batteries. We like the attention DeWalt gave to ergonomics on this drill; any 18-volt is no lightweight, but the balance of this tool and the well-designed pistol grip make it feel lighter than its actual weight.
