Makita introduces their new innovative fast connect accessory system. The UltraLoc is a fast connect accessory system that allows users to change drill accessories quickly and easily. The U.S. made UltraLoc has an exclusive double-action spring design for one-handed operation. It also features a connector that fits all Makita or other brand 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch drills. The UltraLoc has a universal connection that fits popular 1/4-inch hex shank thus eliminating drill bit spinout. UltraLoc makes it a simple two-step process for drill bit removal: simply pull and release. It is 100% faster than switching bits with a keyed chuck and it is up to 75% faster than keyless chucks. The UltraLoc system is tough and long lasting due to its industrial, aircraft aluminum construction and high impact sleeve. The ruggedness makes it ideal for contractors, while the practicality makes it convenient for the do-it-yourselfer. Includes UltraLoc, shorty finder/driver, four insert bits, four drill bits, three sockets, adapter, and case.

This is probably the best single accessory you can own to go with your cordless drill. With Makita’s UltraLoc, you can snap bits in and out with speed and ease. Makita’s attention to quality on this accessory is second to none … in fact I use the UltraLoc with a non-Makita drill. I love it!
The whole concept behind a cordless drill in the first place is convenience and usability, so when I recently purchased my Makita on Amazon this was the next thing added to my cart.
No complaints so far and none expected … the UltraLoc system offers an unbeatable combination of speed, ease of use and quality. The product description says it all: simply pull and release. Repeat as needed. The ultimate in plug and play!
My only (minor) gripe is that it would have been nice to have included a couple more bits and/or sockets, but there’s more than enough here to cover most jobs.
Whether you’re building homes or just living in one, you can’t go wrong with this rugged, yet affordable solution. Best of all, you’ll never have to waste another second fumbling around your toolbox for a key chuck again.
I’ve been working with this set for a couple years now and it has held up well. Very quick bit/ driver changes and great makita quality (I also have a quick change black and Decker set which is not nearly as beefy/ solid). Only complaint is the inside of the case is cheap– the plastic tray is pretty flimsy. But most of the time I keep the parts as the “default” on my drill anyway. You might want to do yourself a favor and get the bigger set– I wish I did!
