Morningstar’s SunGuard is the most advanced small, economical solar charge controller on the market today.
Rated for 4.5 Amps, the SunGuard delivers the same quality and performance as Morningstar’s world-leading SunSaver controllers. The SunGuard’s technology provides exceptional reliability, PWM battery charging, consistent high quality (ISO 9002) and low cost.
The SunGuard is an ideal battery charger for single module power systems. It is well-suited for numerous off-grid solar applications including remote instrumentation, rural telephones, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), traffic signals and consumer uses.
This controller is ideal for single panel installations for panels of up to 60 watts. This is also what we recommend for the smaller trickle charge and maintenance charge panels in the 1 to 20 watt range if you require one.
